Solo-fit verdictSmall-Team Ready

A polished choice for a small team already on a helpdesk, with the catch that a solo pays $299 a month for 500 credits to use only 200 of them.

True solo cost — low volume~$299/mo for eesel alone — 1 workspace, assumption: Teammate at $299/mo is the minimum paid batch and covers ~50 resolved conversations within its 500 credits; your existing helpdesk seat is extra and not included
True solo cost — typical volume~$299/mo for eesel alone — 1 workspace, assumption: Teammate at $299/mo covers ~200 resolved conversations within its 500 credits at no extra cost (extra credits $0.80 each if you exceed the batch); total cost is $299 plus your helpdesk

What eesel AI is — in our words

eesel AI sells itself as hiring a teammate rather than buying a tool. It connects to the helpdesk you already use — Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Front, Help Scout, HubSpot, Salesforce and others — plus sources such as your help centre, Google Docs, Notion, Confluence and past tickets, and then works tickets and chats inside that system. It can answer customers directly, leave drafts for approval, triage and route, and take real actions through connected tools, such as looking up an order in Shopify, checking a policy, tracking, exchanges and refunds within limits you set. It also works in Slack, a chat bubble, email and a browser extension, and you can simulate it against historic tickets before letting it near customers, which is a genuinely reassuring way to launch. Handoff stays in your helpdesk: unresolved work is simply a ticket for you, with eesel's work logged. The model is admirably clean — one fixed monthly price, one credit per ticket or chat however long it runs, every integration included, no per-seat or platform fee. The problem for this directory's reader is the floor. The smallest paid batch is $299 a month for five hundred credits, so a solo resolving two hundred conversations pays for capacity they do not use, on top of the helpdesk they already fund.

What it does end-to-end

  • Works inside Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Help Scout, HubSpot and other helpdesks you already pay for
  • Learns from help centres, Docs, Notion, Confluence, Shopify and your past tickets, with simulation before go-live
  • Takes actions such as order lookups, tracking, exchanges and refunds within your limits
  • Runs in draft-only or autopilot mode, per your choice, with full activity logs

What it does NOT do

  • Provide a helpdesk — you must already have and pay for one it can plug into
  • Offer a low solo entry price — paid plans start at $299 a month
  • Roll unused credits over — credits reset each billing month

Integrations we verified: Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias, Help Scout, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Slack

Pros — our take

  • Cleanest pricing story of the helpdesk-layer tools — one flat price, no seats, no per-resolution anxiety
  • Simulation against real historic tickets de-risks going live
  • Every integration and channel included at every size, nothing drip-gated

Cons — our take

  • $299 monthly floor is the joint-highest entry cost here for a solo at 200 conversations
  • You pay eesel plus your helpdesk, so all-in cost is always higher than the headline
  • Burns credits on Slack questions and reports too, not only customer tickets

Other answer customers agents

Easiest first AI agent for a solo shop — learns your help pages and answers chat and email in minutes

The best starting point for most solo shops, with the catch that you pay for the inbox and the AI as two separate products.

True solo cost (typical)~$189/mo — 1 operator, assumption: Growth at $49.17/mo billed annually + Lyro 200-conversation quota at ~$140/mo monthly billing (~$0.70/conversation at that tier) = ~$189/mo for ~200 resolved conversations

Email-first shared inbox with a simple $0.75 AI agent for founders who live in email

Ideal if email is your main channel, with the catch that it answers questions rather than doing ecommerce jobs for you.

True solo cost (typical)~$175/mo — 1 seat, assumption: Standard $25/mo billed annually + 200 resolutions × $0.75 = $175/mo for ~200 resolved conversations

One flat workspace price for chat, email and social — AI credits included, no per-seat shock

The most budget-predictable option if you adopt its inbox, with the catch that the useful AI starts at $95, not $45.

True solo cost (typical)~$95/mo — 1 workspace, assumption: Essentials at $95/mo is needed for ~200 resolved conversations (Mini's ~90 allowance is too small); Essentials includes ~450, so 200 fits flat with no extra seat cost
