Xero is a long-established cloud ledger that competes with QuickBooks on clarity and collaboration. Every plan includes unlimited users at no extra cost, which suits a solo founder who wants an accountant, a virtual assistant and a future hire all looking at the same numbers without per-seat maths. Bank reconciliation is its signature workflow: transactions flow in, matches are suggested, and its AI assistant JAX is being rolled into everyday tasks such as categorising, chasing information and summarising what changed. Invoicing, bills, expense claims and reporting are all in the core product, and the Established tier adds multi-currency, project tracking and deeper analytics for founders selling outside the US. The limits are mostly at the bottom and around the edges. The Early plan caps you at a small number of invoices and bills each month, payroll in the US is a separate add-on, and some of the newest AI assistance is still being phased in rather than available to everyone today. If your business is simple, invoices regularly, or trades in more than one currency, Xero gives you a tidy, accountant-friendly set of books without paying for seats you do not yet need.
Three published US monthly tiers with unlimited users; introductory discounts apply for the first months, then list price applies.
